Job Description

This is a very hands-on position in which the successful candidate is responsible for assisting the ICT Manager in administering, maintaining and securing all company systems, business applications and related monitoring systems hardware and software. This position has partial responsibility for implementing new system technologies, business applications and cybersecurity to enhance the long-term operational and strategic goals of the company.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responds to user requests for technical assistance either via Help Desk, telephone or in person. Troubleshoots the problem and resolves the issue. Records the incident using help desk software.
  2. Completes ICT System Admin checklist daily and report any abnormalities of system performance to ICT Manager.
  3. Create and schedule preventative maintenance (PM) schedules where needed and ensure PM tasks are performed.
  4. Configures hardware and/or peripherals including printers, cellphones, handheld units, scanners, cameras, computers, servers etc. to maintain system compatibility and software compatibility.
  5. Configures software products, including MS Office Suite and Navis terminal operating system as required. Installs upgrades to software products on user machines and on servers.
  6. Perform daily health check and monitoring of company systems.
  7. Monitor system performance, plan and apply changes to improve performance.
  8. Configures all new and reconfigure existing equipment as needed to enhance performance and security.
  9. Apply software upgrades and install firmware’s provided by Navis, Sage Accounting & HRMS, Microsoft 365, VMWare, Hyper-V, Windows server, Linux, Citrix, Veeam, Datto and all other business applications.
  10. Maintain Server hardware, SAN and NAS.
  11. Design, deploy, and administer business applications.
  12. Troubleshoots all application problems.
  13. Perform periodic stress testing of all systems and security equipment.
  14. Maintains inventory of IT equipment, tools, spare parts, and ensures that all equipment is accounted for.
  15. Maintain working backup of all current systems and software configs.
  16. Perform backup & recovery and business continuity exercises.
  17. Perform system design and implementation tasks.
  18. Configure and assist with monitoring all cybersecurity software and tools enforcing system security protocols and policies to protect company systems and data.
  19. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and best practices for data protection.
  20. Assist with responding to cybersecurity incidents, threats, root cause analysis and implementation of remediation steps.
  21. Assist with training employees in cybersecurity best practices, phishing awareness and secure data handling.
  22. Assist with training of other IT team members and knowledge transfer of system infrastructure.
  23. Maintain documentation for systems hardware, software and configurations.
  24. Assist with other hardware upgrades including server upgrades, changes to client machines and set up of new computers.
  25. Assist ICT Manager with recommendations on hardware and/or peripherals inclusive of all system equipment.
  26. Provides “on call” (after hours, weekend and holiday) support as needed.
  27. Performs all other duties as requested.

Hiring Requirements (Education, experience, certifications, etc.)

  • Associate’s/ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of 1+ years in Windows platform – Server and Client-side
  • Experience of 1+ years managing and maintaining VMWare & Hyper-V environment
  • Experience of 1+ years M365 Admin Center, Exchange Online & Entra ID
  • Experience of 1+ years Backup & Recovery and Business Continuity exercises
  • Experience of 1+ years in managing and maintaining Citrix NetScaler Load Balancer & Reverse Proxy

Hiring Preferences

  • Knowledge & experience with Windows Server 2016 and above, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
